Curation and Biodiversity Informatics

The maintenance of museum specimens and catalogues demands great expertise and handling skills, and this course will introduce students to natural history collection procedures and database handling methods. The integration of data derived from museum specimen and subsequent publication and use of digitized information contained in data repositories (collections; observational databases), will be presented and discussed, while students will train the use of web-services to retrieve desired information Natural history collections around the world.
